The Forbes Magazine annual listing of the 100 most powerful women was headed this year by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She left behind the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who headed the listing last year. The third place is for the Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi, who was second last year.

Among the first 10 women are from the sphere of business and politics.
