The Balkan Network of Women is an initiative for uniting the women's NGOs in the region through information exchange and collaboration. It is an informal structure, open to all women's organizations in the region. This is a web page of those NGOs in the region working on women's issues and human rights that want to be well informed about the initiatives similar organizations in the region and would like to enhance their activities and find new partners.
BNW was established in October 2004 as a result of a joint project of Center of Women's Studies and Policies, Sofia and KA-DER Association for Supporting and Training Women Candidates, Ankara, in which also took part gender experts from Partnership for Equality Center, Bucharest. The successful partnership in this project gave rise to this initiative, which is meant to help more organizations from the region establish such partnerships. More about the project
