Association for Supporting and Training Women Candidates (KA-DER) – Ankara is one of the leading branches of KA-DER, established in 1997 in Istanbul. Its founders – women activists mainly from the academia, initiated it with the objective of empowering and encouraging women to develop strategies for effective and equal participation at local and national parliaments; and to be represented at all decision making bodies. Currently, KA-DER has over 17 branches in major cities and more than 3000 members. The Ankara branch of KA-DER is involved in a large variety of activities, aiming at empowering women in all spheres of life and acts as an 'umbrella organization' of the Turkish Platform to the European Women’s Lobby

Center for Partnership and Equality, Bucharest, was established in 2002 as a not-for-profit organization, committed to mainstreaming the principle of equal opportunities for women and men into the public policies, as an integral part of democratization and creation of an open society, in order to re-define the status and to improve the condition of women in Romania. To this end, PEC advocates for rights such as: non-discrimination against women; the right to education; the right to be free from violence; equal opportunities for women and men; reproductive and sexual rights; a gender-inclusive approach to development; economic rights for women; women’s active involvement in public life. The main activities of CPE include research and trainings as well as information campaigns related to different aspects of the social and economic life of the country. The staff includes experts in gender studies, legal studies, sociology, psychology and psycho pedagogy, political science, philosophy, journalism and public relations.

Centre Nadja Foundation, Sofia was established in 1995 and since then it has been providing consultative, therapeutic and preventive services and a shelter for victims of violence and trafficking. A multidisciplinary team during the years has been working on projects for direct care and support to the victims of physical, sexual, and emotional violence as well as for the raising public awareness, education, and sensitization on the issues of gender equalities, aggression, violence, trafficking in human beings.

Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, Bulgaria is an independent non-governmental organisation for the protection of human rights. The objectives of the committee are to promote respect for the human rights of every individual, to stimulate legislative reform to bring Bulgarian legislation in line with international human rights standards, to trigger public debate on human rights issues, to carry out advocacy for the protection of human rights, and to popularise and make widely available human rights instruments.

Helping Women Association works for achieving real equality of Bulgarian women in all spheres of life and preventing all forms of discrimination. IKAR Association – Haskovo was founded as a youth non-profit organization in public benefit in 1998. It works for raising of the social status of the Bulgarian women and children, Bulgarian families. The Association unites a group of professional women and men – lawyers, doctors, teachers, journalist, psychologist and artists, and is supported by a network of volunteers. Its activities are focused on women and children at risk – unemployed and economically challenged women and their children; discriminated women on the grounds of sexual orientation, disabilities or psychological diseases as well as HIV positive females; women and children victims of sexual abuse, drug, traffic and violence. The organization is licensed as a provider of social services to people in risk (License 48/20.06.2003, Social Assistance Agency – Ministry of Labour and Social Policy).
