Colonel Natasha Dimitrova was appointed by the Bulgarian Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov as chief of the 6th police department in Sofia, the press center of the Ministry announced.
Colonel Natasha Dimitrova graduated in Pedagogy from the Sofia University in 1984. the same year she entered service for the Ministry of Interior as an inspector to the Juvenile Offenders Pedagogic Center at 2nd police department in Sofia. Her professional career is connected with 5th and 6th police departments in Sofia. In 2003 she became Head of the Criminal Police Department at the Sofia Police Force, and in November was promoted colonel.
Colonel Dimitrova has received a number of awards for her professional achievements.
She is married and has one daughter.
For the first time in Sofia's history a lady headed a police department in the capital. Interior Secretary Boyko Borissov described Dimitrova's appointment as a precedent.
