European Conference on Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying has become a growing concern across the EU. Although there is no consensus on the extent of the phenomenon, the number of girls and boys affected remains huge and for some victims, the consequences of cyberbullying can even lead to self-harm or suicide.
In this light, COFACE, along with its Daphne project partners, organises a European Conference on Cyberbullying on the 28th of May in Madrid. The conference will bring together key actors and stakeholders involved in the prevention of cyberbullying, early detection and intervention, including NGOs, helplines and hotlines, public bodies and law enforcement.
The outcome of the conference will feed the reflection and provide input to the development of material targeting children, parents and teachers with the aim to empower them in relation to cyberbullying.
The aim of the conference will be to foster more cooperation between key actors, reference and share their existing good practices and material and create innovative tools which feed on the work of all these stakeholders to better empower and support children, parents and teachers in relation to cyberbullying.
