Boiko Borissov - mayor of Sofia and Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation organised a special press-conference against domestic violence. The press conference was held at Sofia municipality, official hall - November 22, at 1.00. p.m. After the adoption of the Law on Protection against Domestic Violence in 2005 the state is engaged to provide prevention and protection of victims of domestic violence and hence the cooperation between the municipalities and NGOs is of a high importance.

The Press-conference follows the Agreement signed by Sofia Municipality and Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation (BGRF) for join actions directed to prevention and protection of domestic violence. Additionally, BGRF with the active cooperation of Sofia Municipality and the Ministry of Interior opened 3 centers for free of charge consultations for victims of domestic violence in Sofia.
