The University Publishing “Stopanstvo” recently released a collection of papers from the International Conference “Working Time and Working Conditions” (Sofia, 16-17 September 2004). The collection includes the papers of the participants in two international projects: “Employment, unemployment and social protection” under the Fifth Framework Program of the European Commission and “The changes in the working time for men and women”, financed by the Bulgarian-French Program ”Pila”. The purpose of this book, as its editor Prof. Dr Katia Vladimirova points out in the preface, is to highlight how in the current processes of globalization and Europeanism the division of labor is being re-structured in particular by gender, as well as to present the richness of concepts, ideas, social practices and research results of scientists from different countries and continents, working in the field of labor and social policy.
